Helen Zughaib was born in Beirut, Lebanon, living mostly in the Middle East and Europe before coming to the United States. Her work has been widely exhibited in galleries and museums around the world and featured in many private and public collections, including the White House. Zughaib’s style combines a variety of historical art references and influences, including post-impressionism, pop art, Islamic art motifs, geometric patterns, and floral arabesque. Her work, which centers around themes of cultural identity, family life, displacement, and the plight of refugees.
