Maloof "L'eau Épicée" Sparkling Wine, 2023

Made by Maloof Wines, a husband-and-wife winery team in Forest Grove, Oregon, dedicated to capturing a true sense of place and time in each bottle through close work with the farmers they consider the real inspiration behind their wines. This blend of 70% Riesling and 30% Gewürztraminer (20% direct press, 10% skin contact) comes from an organically farmed, 3.5-acre vineyard north of the Chehalem Mountains farmed by Onesimo Mora, planted in the 1990s and both own-rooted and dry farmed.

Made in a rustic style akin to Col Fondo Prosecco, this "Spicy Water" offers playful notes of white flower, warm spice, and pineapple, with great texture from the skin contact and fine bubbles.
