Wright & Brown California Rye

Made by Wright & Brown, a craft grain-to-glass distillery in West Oakland, with much of its non-GMO grain sourced from the family farm in Humboldt County. Milling, mashing, distilling, bottling, and aging all happen in-house, including a high percentage of malted barley so fermentation needs no external enzymes, which preserves the purity of the whiskey. The rye is then aged at least 3 years in #3 charred American white oak. The nose brings crème brûlée, chocolate, and plum, leading to a palate with a grassy quality reminiscent of the golden rolling Bay Area hills, a brûléed creaminess, and dark fruit notes of figs and plums.

Sip it neat to take in the local terroir, or use it as the base for an Old Fashioned or Manhattan.
