Springbank 13 Year Local Barley

The Local Barley is a yearly edition crafted from barley cultivated in or near Campbeltown. We engage a local farmer each year to grow barley on our behalf, ensuring the production of this exclusive 'grain to glass' release.

With each batch, our customers are treated to a distinctive tasting experience, thanks to the utilization of various farms, barley varieties, cask maturations, and the duration the whisky ages in the casks. This diversity guarantees that every sip of The Local Barley is truly one-of-a-kind.
  • Nose: The aroma of this whisky is abundant with fruity notes, including ripe bananas, boiled sweets, and a hint of cinnamon.
  • Palate: When it comes to the taste, this whisky has a thick and chewy texture that is immediately noticeable. It is followed by a peppery and malty flavor, as well as hints of strawberries, brandy schnapps, and parma violets.
  • Finish: A subtle smokiness from peat lingers in the background. The sweetness of wine gums is also present, along with toasted oats, earthy undertones reminiscent of dunnage, and a slight dryness on the palate.
